Navia beach is a long, north-facing beach at the mouth of the Navia river, beside the harbour wall. Peaks break on the river sandbanks on north to north-north-west swell. A central sandbar gives lefts and rights, with the odd left tube, and on the east side El Moro has good rights in a decent swell. It holds plenty of size and works on all tides. The cellulose (pulp) mill upriver can affect the water.

Travel notes
- How often it works
- Works fairly often and holds a lot of swell on all tides. The quality varies because the river sandbars move, but a good day can be excellent.
- Crowd and vibe
- Nearly always empty in the water, partly because of the town's water-quality reputation. The beach itself gets busy with bathers in summer.
- Camping and vans
- No campsite in Navia itself. The nearest we found is Camping Playa de Castello at La Caridad, about 7 km west, open all year. Nearest campsite about 7 km away.
- Facilities
- Parking, toilets, showers and summer lifeguards, with bars, picnic areas and a playground in the recreation area behind the beach.
- Water quality
- Navia beach joined the Blue Flag list in 2026, but a pulp mill sits upstream on the river, and surf guides say the water quality keeps surfers away.
