Linès is the western end of the long, dune-backed beach that runs for kilometres from the Gâvres peninsula towards the Étel estuary, inside the protected Dunes Sauvages de Gâvres à Quiberon. Several peaks spread along the sand, so there is room for everyone and the water is rarely busy. It does not pick up swell well unless it is fairly strong, but on a good swell the waves become reasonably consistent and solid. It is more consistent than the Gâvres end and is used by a local surf school.

Local tips
Walk along the beach and pick the peak with the best bank; the crowd is never the problem here. The beach is unsupervised all year, so surf with a friend and keep an eye on rips. Follow the posted signs, as a navy training area adjoins the beach.
Getting there
The car park at Linès is off the D158 at the western end of Plouhinec, near the Gâvres boundary. Because of the neighbouring military training ground, parking is open continuously in summer and at weekends out of season.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- The long beach does not pick up swell well. It only gets good waves when a strong swell is running, so it is a big-swell spot.
- Crowd and vibe
- Plages.tv notes there are rarely many people in the water. With several peaks along the beach, everyone gets their own space.
