Robayera is a small beach of about 100 m between rocks on the west side of the Pas river mouth (the Ría de Mogro), facing the Liencres dunes across the water. The main wave is a long, powerful left over sand and rock that forms at the river mouth. It is a wild spot with no buildings, reached on foot. In bigger swells the wave gets stronger and more demanding.

Local tips
Where the river meets the sea there are strong currents, whirlpools and pull, and people have drowned here, so it is not a place for weak swimmers. Watch where the current runs before you paddle out, and enter carefully between the rocks. It is best around low tide.
Getting there
There is no road to the sand. Park in Miengo or Cuchía and walk along the paths through the fields; the last part is a steep, stony track.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- Works with a solid north-west swell and is often flat in summer. Some surfers find it fickle, because the river-mouth sand changes.
- Crowd and vibe
- Few bathers because of the walk, but the left draws a crowd of local surfers when it is good. Respect the locals and the order of the line-up.
- Camping and vans
- Camping Hermanos García in Cuchía is about 3.5 km west. Nearest campsite about 3.5 km away.
- Facilities
- None: no lifeguards, toilets or bars. Shops and cafés are in Miengo, Cuchía and Mogro.
- Water quality
- We found no official bathing-water rating for Robayera. It sits at the mouth of the Pas river, so avoid it after heavy rain.
