Ogella, also written Ogeia, is a wild beach of about 450 m in Ispaster, near Lekeitio, below pine-covered cliffs of flysch. The waves break over rock, with a fast, hollow right that finishes close to the rocks and a longer left. Guides disagree on which side is longer, but both say there is real power here. It needs a fair amount of swell and is usually quiet.

Local tips

Take care getting in and out, because rows of rocks line the entry and exit points. It is noticeably smaller than Mundaka in the same swell. The water is clean, and divers use the spot too.

Getting there

There is a dirt car park above the beach, with showers and barbecue areas. The beach is reached on foot from the car park.
